The theatre is a separate sterile area where staff wear surgical hats and masks and special scrub suits to minimise the risk of contamination during surgery. There is a padded operating table that can be adjusted to fit anything from rabbits to Great Danes!
- Advisor Vital Signs Monitor: This machine is able to monitor Heart/Pulse Rate; Electrocardiography(ECG); Oximetry; Non-invasive blood pressure; invasive blood pressure; temperature and capnography. It is a very useful tool for assessing how an animal is coping under anaesthesia and is used for most operations.
- Wall Mounted Anaesthetic Machine: We have piped oxygen and use Isoflurane anaesthesia.
- Operating Light: Over 4000 foot candles of light intensity on a flexible arm enables maximum visibility during surgery.
