Prep Area
Our Prep area is a large open plan air conditioned area where we prepare animals for surgery and can perform Endoscopy and Ultrasound examinations.
- Endotracheal tubes: Inserted into airway once animal is anaesthetised to enable it to breathe during the procedure. Sizes vary from 3mm for little cats to 12 mm for large dogs.
- Autoclave: Used to sterilise equipment before surgery.
- Ultra sound Machine: Uses ultrasound waves to enable us to visualise internal structures. Can be used to assess hearts, liver, kidneys etc and for pregnancy diagnosis. This can be done conscious as causes no pain or discomfort for your pet.
- Xray: Used to take pictures of bones, so helps diagnose fractures and bony damage.Usually need to anaesthetise animal first to correctly position for xrays.
- Endoscope: 5m fibreoptic gastrocope to enable us to look inside anaesthetised pets. We can see into stomachs and look for foreign bodies and signs of disease.
- Dentistry Equipment: Our dental system includes everything needed to remove teeth and scale and polish.
