Nurses
Donna
Donna Stewart qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2002 whilst working in Hastings. She then spent a while working in Australia before returning to this country and joining Bourne Veterinary Practice in April 2007.
She enjoys her nurse clinics and is particularly interested in nutrition, and emergency and critical care medicine.
Donna works part-time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. She is maried to a vet called Grant and they have a young daughter called Emily. They also have 3 mischievous cats called Nyala, Tsavo and Mo at home. In their spare time Donna and Grant are far too sporty and like walking, swimming and cycling.
Julie
Julie Scott has worked with animals since she was 13 years old. She has worked as a nurse in several local practices, worked at a kennels and been a monkey keeper!
Jules loves the variety of cases and characters of the wonderful animals we meet at the practice. She has recently passed all her exams and is now a fully qualified Veterinary nurse.
Julie enjoys country walks with the dogs, watching wildlife and helping run a friendly dog training group with her husband Charlie.
Heidi
Heidi Phillips started with us in May 2008 although she has been a locum here on several occasions. Heidi qualified in 2002 and previously worked in Maidstone where she worked with Rob before Bourne Vets opened.
Heidi and her partner Darren have a delightful working Cocker Spaniel called Ollie, a cat called Saskia and a house rabbit called Logan. Heidi enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing especially critical care cases and nutrition.
Isobel
Isobel joined the practice in June 2006 and she works part time on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and at weekends.
Isobel is currently training at Canterbury College to become a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse after taking a break while she had her 2 sons, Adam and Alex. Isobel is an active member of Canterbury and District Cats Protection.
She has 5 cats of her own (all previous strays) Thomas, Tasha, Minnie, Ellie and Binks, a budgie and she also has 2 guinea pigs – all of which are easier to look after than her children and husband!
Hayley
Hayley has been with the practice since it opened in 2006. She started by doing some work experience and soon started working at weekends and during the holidays. After disappearing off for an amazing 7 month trip around the world, Hayley is now back working with us again and training to be a veterinary nurse at Canterbury College. Hayley has a pet sparrow that she hand reared 10 years ago. She also has a labrador called Jet and Smudge the rabbit.
